Where the Magic will happen!
We went to a Bridal Showcase on January 17th. It was interesting but we weren't honestly getting too much out of it other than endless amounts of fliers. Towards the end of the showcase we were walking down the last isle and came across a very kind lady who was representing The Fountains Ballroom in Glenwood, IA. The way they worked was that they offered different packages. You paid the lump sum to The Fountains Ballroom and then customized everything else through them! Ok, well not everything but NEARLY everything! The types of things that were included in these packages were centerpieces, music, beverage packages, photography packages, linens, tablewear, etc. They weren't predesigned packages either. All of it was customizable.
So, we decided that we needed to see it in person.. ASAP! We made an appointment and programmed Alfred (if you don't know who Alfred is read "The Proposal" tab).
The Fountains Ballroom is owned by a young couple who live in a home on the property. They live there with their three small children and their pet dog. Their goal is to make wedding planning easier and not as limited as they had found when they planned theirs years prior. I think that they have definitely attained that goal.
On our way home that night, Alfred told us to turn left on 'so and so' road. Now, if you have ever used a GPS you might know that sometimes it looks like you need to turn right at that moment but it's actually about 5-10 feet down the road. Well, we turned where we thought we needed to and it ended up being some farmers driveway that wrapped around his property. We got stuck in snow, ice, and mud! We tried everything that we could to get out. We just couldn't, not without help. So we called a tow truck, and Rich from Arrow towing slowly yanked us out of the mess we had gotten into.
All in all, The Fountains Ballroom was the only place that tried to keep us there! That spoke to us somehow! Ok, I might be joking, but Chad and I were impressed so much that we decided to choose this as the location for us to be married.
